U.K. Politics Ad Net MessageSpace Buys Design Consultancy; More Multimedia Campaigns

MessageSpace, an online ad network for British political blogs, has bought Global New Media, a web design consultancy, for an undisclosed sum in a deal to help pressure groups gain visibility in Westminster. Sort of like a niche Federated Media, MessageSpace helps advertisers place banner ads on the increasingly popular online politics rags like Guido Fawkes, Labourhome and Iain Dale’s Diary. Global New Media designed 18 Doughty Street, the online politics web TV channel launched in January, as well as several other politics sites.

The deal, which essentially brings Global’s MD Mike Rouse on board a renamed MessageSpace://Creative, will see the companies work more closely on targeting ads to specific audiences using mobile and multimedia. The company says it can use targeting software to deliver ads to journalists at particular newspapers on specific days (the U.K.’s politics blogs now have a strong readership amongst Westminster’s political class).
