UK SMS Still Booming – 2007 Forecast Revised Up After Bumper September: Report

UK mobile users sent 1.2 billion SMS messages per week during September, according to a Mobile Data Association (MDA) report (via DM Europe). The research shows 4.82 billion texts were sent in the whole of the month – a number that represents 25 percent growth on 2006 and equals the total number sent in all of 1999. The MDA has now revised up its figure forecast for 2007 from 48 billion to 52 billion.
