Telegraph.co.uk Launching Seven New Video Shows

Telegraph.co.uk is investing in online video in a big way, launching seven new online “TV” shows, The Guardian reports

Right On (Thursdays): politics talk show, during parliament, featuring Ann Widdecombe and Telegraph assistant editor Andrew Pierce. Includes a Smith And Jones-style skit between Tory blogger Iain Dale and columnist Simon Heffer. Sounds unashamedly right-of-centre.
10 Minutes To Table (Wednesdays): A “real time food programme” hosted by Loyd Grossman and Telegraph foodie Xanthe Clay. This is exactly the same concept as Gordon Ramsay’s Cookalong Live Channel 4 show, airing January 18 – but more people are likely to lug their laptop to the kitchen than their TV.
The Culture Minute (Daily): Arts editor Sarah Crompton reviews the latest creative endeavours, with an omnibus on Saturdays.
The Gadget Inspectors: Don’t bet against it being about technology.
Your Money: Personal finance.
Their Hands: ?
The Wheel Deal: Cars?
Real Trips: Travel.

This is the next phase in Telegraph Media Group’s multimedia strategy, though it’s not strictly multi-platform. In fact, it’s cut its PM PDF download and daily news podcast to get here. Telegraph.co.uk already runs a video news section. This growing array of new programming could do with off-site carriage to win wider-still audiences.
