Borders Launching IPTV Brand For New In-House Site

Bookseller Borders is launching an internet video channel inviting book reviews from customers as well as writers and celebs. Simply Media, whose IPTV clients include Boots, The Baby Channel and Emap (LSE: EMA), will be rebranding its existing BookZone.tv channel “Borders Book Zone” as part of a Borders.co.uk revamp due by May, theBookseller reports. The site will include over 100 video interviews with authors, but readers will be invited to submit their reviews, too – content may be included on Simply Media’s Simply.tv channel on BSkyB (NYSE: BSY). The idea is to make the site stickier for customers and give publishers a marketing channel. Borders’ website is thus far powered by Amazon (NSDQ: AMZN) but the retailer is due to launch its own store site.
