Just in time for the house price crash, Doug Monro, MD of local UK classifieds site Gumtree, has been hired as chief operating officer of recently-launched property price site Zoopla. An accountant and MBA, Monro was a strategy head at eBay (NSDQ: EBAY) UK before joining the city-based local ads site, which was then bought by eBay in 2005. Zoopla, launched in January with funds from Dailymotion backer Atlas Venture, estimates historical property prices (though its “secret formula” was pretty far out on my own home). Other features include free property listings and buyer-seller communication tools. Release.
