Centaur Print Sales Slide, Online Up, ‘Challenging’ Outlook

imageSame old story we’re seeing everywhere else. Revenues for the year to June 30 will be flat but online will be up 24 percent, business publisher Centaur reckons, ahead of its full September 18 announcement. Print revenue has fallen an alarming eight percent in just the last six months, blamed on a shrinking mortgage market and tough conditions in other verticals, and the rest of the year looks “challenging” though online and events revenue will continue growth, the Lawyer and New Media Age publisher said. So it’s cost-cutting time for Centaur, as well as embarking on new online launches to offset the print decline. It says it has £7.7 million in the bank with which to fund launches. Statement.
