Czech Game Publisher 1C Buys Russia’s Buka

Yet another Russian deal… Prague-based video game publisher 1C Company is buying Russian game publisher Buka for an estimated $80 million taking 40 percent of Russia’s $400 million-a-year games market, Quintura says. The company is currently held by investor Finam (behind Badoo’s investment), Norum and Buka’s founders, and did revenues of $35 million in 2007. Buka has published big titles like Half Life for publishers like Ubisoft in Russia.
