Industry Moves: Brownlee Leaving AOP, Blinkx Finds CFO

imageAOP: Association of Online Publishers director Ruth Brownlee will leave to concentrate on caring for her children, just nine months after starting the job in January, Guardian.co.uk reports. Brownlee played commercial roles at Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO), C4 and Handbag.com but said the part-time AOP job needs to be full-time – something she can’t favour over looking after her two pre-school children. A head-hunter has been appointed to replace Brownlee. AOP chair Simon Waldman: “Ruth has given us eight phenomenally productive months.”

Blinkx: The video search index is hiring its first dedicated chief financial officer, Jonathan Spira, from his own J.Phineas International business consultancy. Matthew Service has been CFO and COO since 2006 and will retain the COO role. Acquisition rumours swirled around Blinkx this summer, and it’s looking to make acquisitions of its own.
