Sport Media Group, which publishes the Daily and Sunday Sport titles and operates mobile and web premium porn services, is planning to cut digital expenditure, after facing competition from free online adult material.
Ahead of its AGM Wednesday lunchtime, the group told the market: “Trading in the digital side of the business remains difficult, with revenues still declining compared to the similar periods last year, and as a result additional cost reductions have been actioned.”
The group recently said digital revenue fell 42 percent to £5.4 million over the 17 months to December 31, from £9.3 million in the previous 12 months.
