Veteran Google (NSDQ: GOOG) executive Omid Ashtari is Foursquare’s first European employee, a business development director here, TechCrunch reports and Ashtari’s LinkedIn (NYSE: LNKD) confirms.
Foursquare is used plenty in Europe but has done little to no actual business activity here, though many brands are keen to become partners.
Ashtari will be “developing and executing foursquare’s European partnerships strategy”.
Ashtari had spent six years at Google, finishing as a new business development manager this September.
TechCrunch: “Foursquare has no current plans to hire more international employees or open up any additional office space.”
