Society wedding draws Prince

Prince Harry is expected to be one of the guests at the high-society wedding of his ski partner today.

Hundreds of well-wishers are set to join celebrations for the marriage of Welsh Guards officer Harry Legge-Bourke near the family’s 6,000-acre Glanusk Estate in Crickhowell, Powys.

The younger brother of former royal nanny Tiggy Legge-Bourke, he will wed fiancé Iona Maclean at 17th century St Edmunds Church this afternoon.

Prince William, a friend of the groom, is unable to attend the wedding because he is taking part in an Operation Raleigh expedition in Patagonia

But Prince Harry is said to be on the guest list with Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Phillips, and son Peter.

Captain Harry Legge-Bourke has served as aide-de-camp to Sir Charles Guthrie, the Chief of Defence Staff, and has been a skiing parter of both of the Princes in Klosters.

Captain tipped

Sixteen-year-old Harry is known to remain close to his former nanny Tiggy, who married security consultant Charles Pettifer on the family estate last year.

Captain Legge-Bourke has also been tipped as a future equerry to Prince William.

Tiggy Legge-Bourke joined the Prince of Wales’s staff in 1993 and become a close companion of William and Harry through the separation of their parents.

Gwent Police are mounting a security operation around the church.
