Guardian International Head Leaving; New Digital Development Director Named

Guardian News & Media’s international and business development director Stella Beaumont has decided to leave after 28 years with the company, with foundations now in place for Guardian.co.uk’s second U.S. push.

She will stay until autumn, helping launch the project and oversee paidContent’s publisher ContentNext, which GNM acquired in 2008.

“Reporting lines for ContentNext following Stella’s departure will be determined as part of the wider planning for our American operation,” Guardian Media Group CEO Andrew Miller told staff.

Chris Pelekanou will be interim U.S. commercial director from October.

Separately, GNM is installing Tanya Cordrey as interim digital development director, following Mike Bracken’s departure.

And GNM is hiring for a layout subeditor who will design pages of its forthcoming iPad edition, on a six-month contract.
