Econsultancy Says Profit Is Growing From Premium Memberships

The e-marketing analysis site and training service Econsultancy revealed to paidContent:UK: “We grew profits by around 70 percent last year. Hoping to do the same again this year.

“Last year’s UK operation turned in a profit of more than £1 million,” innovation director Chris Lake tells us. “We’re expecting to post £1.5 million+ this year. Last year’s revenue was closing in on £5 million. This year we’re pushing for £6 million. Profit growth has been consistently above 30 percent for years.”

The service has a premium-membership one for all its eight years, costing between £295 for individuals and £4,975 for larger teams.

Econsultancy has just hit the 100,000-member mark, after expanding in to the U.S., Middle East and Far East.

CEO Ashley Friedlein doesn’t believe content alone can be charged for, but that a range of ancillary business services like data products can form a pay-for package.
