The director of Yahoo’s Connected TV business in Europe, Shirlene Chandrapal, is leaving to join video ad network Smartclip as connected TV VP.
Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) Connected TV, a suite of widgets and apps, is one of the most notable internet-TV layers, embedded on some TVs from Samsung, Sony (NYSE: SNE), LG (SEO: 066570), Vizio and Toshiba. In Europe, Yahoo recently signed low-end Turkish TV maker Vestel to the mix.
Group-level Yahoo Connected TV VP Patrick Barry left in late 2009.
Chandrapal had previously been a BlueLithium marketing director and Yahoo ad product marketing director.
Smartclip’s network claims 450 million monthly video views across Spain, the UK, France, Russia, Germany, the Nordics and Benelux, with 100 million of them in Britain. It’s next targeting selling video ads in to social web games.
