Songkick Raising $2 Million More Funding

Songkick, a web database of music gig listings which users can flag themselves as attending, raised $4 million in first-round funding back in 2008. Now it’s looking for $2 million more.

TechCrunch found an SEC filing confirming the process.

Although Songkick’s raison d’etre is just one of the features a site like Last.fm has offered for years, it aims to commercialise it by feeding gig listings to sites like YouTube (NSDQ: GOOG) and Vevo.

The business model is to take a cut of ticket sales Songkick refers to merchants.
