Global Radio has picked ShineVu digital head Christopher Thorogood to be its digital director.
Thorogood replaces Robin Pembrooke, who became ITV’s digital director in September; Pembrooke’s shoes had been filled by Lloyd Shepherd.
Thorogood will lead a team of 50. Global has been consolidating its One Network stations in to Capital FM, merging other stations in to Heart and also operates Classic FM, LBC, XFM and Gold. The stations variously have some mobile apps and a big chart music affiliate deal with iTunes Store.
ShineVu is the digital production arm of TV maker Shine Group. Thorogood was previously MD of BSkyB’s MyKindaPlace and online marketing head for Woolworth.co.uk
