As the mar-comms majors continue buying up digital and emerging-markets agencies, Maurice Levy’s Publicis says it’s acquiring Digital District, a Duesseldorf-based digital communications provider.
Publicis say it’s putting the firm in its Publicis Healthcare division since it specialises in healthcare comms.
General manager Aleksandar Stojanovic will stay aboard as leader.
The company is eight years old and, on its website, says it was due to turn a €1.7 million 2007 profit on €7 million income.
Says Publicis: “The internet has become a critical source for individuals wishing to obtain information about their health, and healthcare-related searches rank among the top queries on the internet.
“Given the strength of the internet as a tool for healthcare brands, guidance will be increasingly valuable to pharmaceutical companies and institutions close to the industry throughout the world.”
Terms of the deal are not released.
