Communications infrastructure provider Arqiva is aiming to license the technology underpinning its SeeSaw VOD site to international broadcasters.
Arqiva acquired the technology from the prohibited Project Kangaroo joint venture last year for its own, first ever foray in to online TV, launching the SeeSaw site in January with catch-up and archive shows.
The Kangaroo technology had been built for the BBCWW-ITV-C4 venture by Sky Player and 4oD builder Ioko.
Arqiva will make its pitch for licensing out the platform at the IBC TV tech conference in Amsterdam on Friday.
The company tells us its inclination “was conceived as a direct response to market demand and inquires since the launch of SeeSaw”.
