WPP Buying In To Chinese Digital Ad Measurement

Sir Martin Sorrell regularly identifies the two big growth opportunities as being digital and the BRIC countries.

So it’s no surprise WPP is making another acquisition in both of those spaces.

Through WPP Digital, it’s taking a minority stake in Leading Smart Holdings, which itself has a controlling stake in the parent company of Moment Systems, a Chinese digital advertising measurement company. Announcement.

Beijing-based Moment Systems apparently has a database of around 250 million Chinese internet users.

WPP is certainly still on the acquisition trail. WPP Digital’s page now lists 23 constituent digital agencies, not including the recent additions of Midia Digital and I-Cherry in Brazil.
