Metrics: UK Search Ad Prices Have Fallen By A Fifth This Year

No wonder some publishers are seeking alternative revenue streams. According to search marketing placing agency Efficient Frontier

— The sector grew 10 percent in the UK over the last 12 months.

— But cost per click (CPC) rates are down by up to 20 percent

— UK search marketing spend didn’t grow from Q1 to Q2 this year.

It’s not all bad, according to the company’s Q2 quarterly search report. Amongst the major search engines specifically, CPC rates actually rose, by between three and eight percent – Efficient Frontier reckons the last three months have seen the market specifically have seen the market a corner and this could see a return to growth for UK search marketing spend in Q3.

Indeed, this week’s IPA/BDO Bellwether for Q2 reported an increasing number of marketers upping their spend on search marketing.
