Google Switches On Property Search In UK

Well, there goes another business line local newspapers used to have all to themselves.

After speculation about the move last year, Google (NSDQ: GOOG) has added a range of property listings to its Google Maps service.

But – as with most things common to the common that index, not creates content – the listings are not its own. It’s taking them from existing providers like Zoopla, Eyzylet, Countrywide, Spicer Haart and Trinity Mirror (LSE: TNI) Digital Property-owned SmartNewHomes.com, NMA says.

But there’s no Rightmove or Findaproperty.

Google has been operating property search in Australia and U.S. cities for some time.
