Proving the idea that technologies and media are essentially the same thing, tech market researcher iSuppli has agreed to acquire media research and analyst agency Screen Digest, to buy in to the area.
iSuppli isn’t disclosing the offer price or terms but expects to close the deal before year’s end. The acquisition would create a stronger, more diversified technology, media and telecoms company to go up against the likes of Forrester, which augmented its own tech nous by acquiring Jupiter Research two years ago.
Though El Segundo, CA-based iSuppli provides intelligence on home electronics, mobile and microchips at core, London-based Screen Digest specialises in digital media – advertising, film, games, mobile, TV and video.
