Weekend Investment Round-Up: WPP, Axel Springer, ITV.com

From the weekend papers…

WPP: The ad firm has already bought several digital firms, and CEO Martin Sorrell says WPP is still looking – but sale prices need to be tempered, he says, suggesting Publicis’ $530 million Razorfish acquisition may now look pricey. Via Reuters.

Axel Springer: Europe’s biggest newspaper publisher is still upping its acquisition warchest, aiming to sell shares worth 17 percent of the company; it’s interested in digital acquisitions. Via FT.com.

ITV: Analysts tell FT.com the broadcaster is aiming to invest £50 million in TV production and online acquisitions – but the latter looks unlikely: while ITV (LSE: ITV) is aiming to boost its production and format sales, its website is in a holding pattern nowadays, supported mainly by VOD with ads sold against it.
