After spending two years helping Holland’s music royalty collector get more money from digital services, Buma/Stemra’s digital business development manager is now joining one of those services.
Mars Mertens is taking the same role at Amsterdam-based fan-funding music site Sellaband.
The equivalent of the UK’s PRS For Music, Buma/Stemra has used its digital development unit to research and maximise royalties from new online services.
A bit like Slicethepie and Bandstocks, which has been quiet of late, Sellaband asks users to bankroll acts on the site. Public Enemy recently raised $50,000 in two weeks via the service.
Sellaband CEO Johan Vosmeijer spoke at our EconMusic conference last year.
