Mobile Live Video Streamer Bambuser Finds Its New CEO At MySpace

Sweden’s Bambuser, a mobile live videocaster that rivals Qik and Flixwagon, is hiring MySpace Nordic CEO Hans Ericksson as its new CEO, to replace co-founder Jonas Vig, ArcticStartup reports.

Ericksson, who had taken the MySpace job in February 2008, had already been using Bambuer while at the social network, for its Live In Nordics summer music festivals project. In fact, he’s broadcasting live on Bambuser as I write this.

Though less known outside Scandinavia than counterparts Qik and Flixwagon, Bambuser – available on jailbroken iPhone, Android, Symbian and Windows Mobile – is more likely to be the mobile video streaming tool of choice in its native Sweden, where it was recently used by Pirate Bay cohorts to cover their court trial, for example.

Bambuser, founded in 2007 by students from Turku and Malmö, received investment from Norway’s Kistefos Venture Capital in July 2008.
