Broadband Content Bits: We7 Stats, Music Royalties; ITV Friends Reunited Sale Reports; BT Vision

We7: Is We7 finally hitting the right note? Two weeks after saying it’s getting two million monthly uniques, the site has leapfrogged Last.fm for UK’s top music destination based on visit share (Hitwise). Despite initially offering ads in free track downloads, We7 now has a mix of ad-supported streaming and a la carte download purchases.

PRS revs: Jan-to-Jun music royalties from broadcast and online are down six percent from a year ago to £77 million. PRS admitted to us the disappearing of YouTube royalties had some effect but the figs aren’t especially indicative of downward trend – it’s mostly because services that use the music were invoiced late due to a PRS technical error.

ITV (LSE: ITV) Friends sale report: It’s an unsourced Sunday newspaper report, so treat with caution, but Mail Online, joined by Guardian.co.uk, has it that ITV is in exclusive talks to sell its Friends Reunited social network to former Pipex boss Peter Dubens for just £15 million. That would be quite a discount on the £175 million it paid for the site in 2005. An ITV spokeswoman would not confirm the talks but said the company does still want to sell the site.

BT (NYSE: BT) Vision: BT’s VOD IPTV service is adding films from Sony (NYSE: SNE) Pictures Television including Terminator Salvation and Angels & Demons on a subscription or PPV basis, adding to the 600 current and classic films it offers.

Portuguese IPTV gets Two Way Games: UK digital gaming company Two Way Media has signed a deal to provide Portguese IPTV service Meo with interactive games.
