Industry Moves: Disney Adds Moore, Wired.co.uk Editors, BBC Marketing

Disney: The mouse is taking Aardman Animations COO Stephen Moore to be its new VP and MD for the EMEA (and Canada!) region, after Tom Toumazis left for Endemol in November. Moore joined the Wallace & Gromitt maker from LA in 2006, where he spent eight years at 20th Century Fox; on his watch, Aardman ha grown the number of online platforms on which it has carriage. Moore will report to Disney-ABC Worldwide TV global distribution president Ben Pyne. Via Variety.

Wired: Michael Parsons is adding two gadget journalists to edit the forthcoming Wired.co.uk website – ex Times Online tech ed Holden Frith and, as news editor, PocketLint’s Katie Scott. We revealed back in October that former ZDNet UK ed Parsons had been hired to lead the mag’s online wing outside the US, involving production of other languages including Chinese and French from London. Italian and UK print launches are on course for February and April 2 respectively. Via PG.

BBC marketing: Former EMI digital VP Simon Gunning is being taking on as the director for the marketing, communication and audiences function of the BBC’s future media and technology division in an acting capacity NMA says. That’s after David Bainbridge’s departure in December. Gunning had also been games and entertainment director for Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) Europe and interactive director at Celador International.
