When the BBC hailed a new Wii version of iPlayer back in April, I was disappointed to find that the experience was basically the desktop iPlayer website – ill-fitting for the Wii’s TV browser. Now, though, Auntie’s online media head Anthony Rose has re-tooled the offering specifically for the games console. The result you see here: chunkier buttons, slimmed-down navigation and full-screen video: “People also wondered why we made BBC iPlayer available on Wii but not PS3. The reason is simple: there are twice as many Wii units in the UK than PS3s.” That now brings iPlayer up to PC app, website, Virgin Media (NSDQ: VMED), N96, iPod touch, Sky Player website.. am I missing anything?
