Music subs chart: The Official Charts Company is making the first chart for subscription music services – a sign that model is set to rise in the near future. The chart will actually count plays of tracks from services like Omnifone and Napster (NSDQ: NAPS), distilled in to a weekly Top 500. The chart will launch next year, and the OCC called it a world first. Release.

Radiohead stems: Radiohead, who long held their individual tracks back from iTunes Store, yesterday published instrumental stems for their Reckoner track there. It’s a partnership with Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) that asks people to remix the track with Garageband and upload new compositions to radioheadremix.com. All six stems cost just £0.79. The band did the same for its Nude track.

France 24: RealNetworks (NSDQ: RNWK), whose Real.com SuperPass for live TV streaming costs up to £11.99 a month, will now start to make some channels available for free instead. News channel France24 is being added to the portfolio, but with ad funding. Real is trumpeting the “new possibilities” this “second dimension” of free will bring to the premium offering.
