Broadband Content Bits: Video Metrics, iPlayer Stacking, Malibu/Yahoo, Reuters Video

Video views: 27.4 million UK net users watched some 3.2 billion videos on websites in June, if you believe comScore’s (NSDQ: SCOR) latest Video Metrix. That’s an average 117.7 videos per viewer – the highest count in Europe. GooTube got almost half of that with BBC.co.uk the nearest rival on just 1.4 percent.

BBC iPlayer series: BBC has started iPlayer’s “series stacking” feature, letting viewers watch any episode in a series, as long as that series is still playing on TV. Auntie is promoting its Tess Of The Durbevilles drama around the feature.

Malibu/Yahoo: Media agency Vizeum UK has developed a branded video show, Get Your Island On, for the Malibu drink, now running on Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) Video. You could call this “branded entertainment” – but Malibu’s brand is hardly anywhere to be seen in this. The series is an amalgam of user-generated internet videos. Via MW.

Reuters: Reuters is starting Reuters Entertainment Video Online, a feed of six to 10 daily ents news videos for its online clients. Topics include movies, music, internet, fashion, games and the arts. More here. Via C21.
