Zemanta, a blog and browser plugin that fetches relevant additional content, has more seed funding from Union Square Ventures. The startup, based in Slovenia and London, is getting $650,000 from the VC, joining Eden Ventures and The Accelerator Group, and has attracted $2.2 million to date, TCUK says. It works by analysing the content of an article, then adding a mix of text, images, links and tags for added context, taking the labour out of background research, related links and content taxonomy.
Zemanta was one winner in last year’s Seedcamp, the tech startup pitch session started by Accelerator’s Saul Klein and which begin this year’s event today.
