Former BBC light entertainment head Michael Leggo has become TV director for NetPlay TV Broadcasting, which operates interactive roulette and bingo games converged across TV and the web. Currently programming director at Unique Communications Group, he is briefed with improving NetPlay’s mainstream credentials and winning further carriage with channels.
Founded in 2001 and listed on AIM, NetPlay – led by Martin Higginson – operates its Live Roulette and Big Box Bingo games at night on BSkyB (NYSE: BSY) satellite and simultaneously via dedicated websites. Deregulation of gaming advertising has given broadcasters and web operators alike confidence that games like bingo can bring in some money in the wake of the the UK’s participation TV scandal.
