Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) Europe is promoting business sales VP Christophe Parcot to fill the top sales VP spot after losing Javier Zapatero to Google (NSDQ: GOOG). Zapatero will become Google’s country manager in Spain, where he had also held exec positions for Yahoo before he was asked to fill in for UK commercial director Blake Chandlee (via NMA).
Yahoo’s sales and marketing ranks have been hemorrhaging on these shores over the last year (see related links). Chandlee quit to spearhead Facebook’s UK commercial operations last autumn, prompting agency strategy head Stephen Haines and group head Jon Harvey to follow him out the door. And all that predated Yahoo’s recent move-to-Switzerland-or-else ultimatum to senior managers. Parcot, a former Yahoo France MD, had been VP of small and medium business sales, Campaign mag says.
