BBC future media and technology senior business development manager Daren Forsyth is taking a year-long break from Auntie to become director of innovation and new media at Media Trust, an organisation that promotes links between charities and the media. Forsyth, who joined in 2006, was responsible for striking the strategic relationship with Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) that underpinned iPlayer, but was suggested for the charity role by BBC internet controller Tony Ageh as part of corporate social responsibility commitments, The Guardian says. He now wants to help Media Trust become a “sandbox” for tech companies to try out new ideas.
