M&A: Warner Bros Buys TT Games, TomTom Plots Course For TeleAtlas

TT: Warner Bros has bought TT Games – the Knutsford, Cheshire-based publisher of the Lego Star Wars games, Bionicle Heroes and Transformers: The Game – for an undisclosed amount. The studio will be the “cornerstone” of WB’s games strategy, Warner’s home entertainment group president Kevin Tsujihara said (via FT.com), but “there will be a number of pieces of the puzzle”.

TeleAtlas: GPS maker TomTom looks to have closed out an offer from rival Garmin for map maker TeleAtlas. Garmin last week trumped TomTom’s July offer valuing TeleAtlas at 1.8 billion euros (£2.5 billion), but TomTom has now bought 28 percent of the target’s shares. FT: “By buying Tele Atlas, TomTom could expand in the “content” business by providing mapping and navigation software for mobile phones and wireless devices.” TeleAtlas also supplies Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Maps amongst others.
