Mobile Operators Join Together To Payforit

A year after agreeing to participate, the UK’s main main mobile networks have launched a mobile payments standard called PayForIt, writes Ingrid on our sister site MocoNews. Designed to handle transactions of less than £10 and modeled on Vodafone’s own mobile payments scheme, the service involves neither banks nor direct deductions from an operator but relies on consumers using one of 14 third-party intermediary services like Bango or mBlox. Customers will still see the purchases on their mobile bill, however. More detail on MocoNews.
