Imagine a Wimbledon where rain never stops play. IBM has recreated the tennis event inside Second Life.

The company, which runs the competition’s website, first launched a proof of concept in October that included weather feeds and even ball tracking in 3D space.
In this summer’s environment, inhabitants can watch the latest point get played inside SL.
Much of the data comes from the tracking IBM performs in the real world for adding information to the website.
“Whilst we have created seats, many people choose to stand where the other people are standing,”
wrote the environment’s creator Ian Hughes.“This is actually good as it is because are interacting, which is the whole reason I am in the Wimbledon build to help.”
