MySpace China is urgently developing an instant messaging client that will incorporate video amongst other features. CEO Luo Chuan told Reuters the service must launch “quickly, as soon as possible”. Sina added that the service will be a Chinese localization of the myspaceim client found on the social network’s English site. In fact, users have been providing feedback on a heavily promoted version of the client that has been available since May. Launched in April, MySpace China has around 580,000 users but faces local competition. As former MSN China head, CEO Chuan would have had experience in IM platforms.
